TMC ACQUIRE RIGHTS OVER SMALL-SCALE MINING TUNNELS IN T’BOLI

TMC-Tribal Mining Corporation, a large-scale mining operating in T’boli, South Cotabato has purchased and acquired the rights of small-scale mining tunnels inside the drain tunnel of Maguan Clan Small-Scale Mining Association (MCSSMA) and T’boli Minahang Bayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TMBMPC) including the drain tunnel itself of TMBMPC. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the company and the MCSSMA on the one hand and TMBMPC on the other in the presence of Constancio A. MGB XII CONDUCTS REGIONAL CONSULTATION AND RE-ORIENTATION ON SSM LAW

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII conducts regional consultation and re-orientation seminar on small-scale mining law, its rules and regulations and related laws at Fred An’s Food Haus in Koronadal City. The seminar was participated by representatives of Provincial/City Mining Regulatory Boards (P/CMRBs) of the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, North Cotabato, Sarangani and city of General Santos; staff of the the office of provincial environment and management within the region; chairperson of the committee on environment of Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Panlungsod and applicants of Minahang Bayan or the People’s Small-Scale Mining Area. The seminar aims to raise continuous awareness among miners and leaders with regard to Republic Act (R.A.) No. 7076. RA 7076 is the law governing small-scale mining established in Executive Order No. 79 (EO 79), the reforms instituted on mining sector issued by former President Benigno Aquino, Jr. on July 2012. With the increase of manpower of the organization, goal to improve performance of employees and address agency issues, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region XII conducted a two (2)-day seminar on Gender Sensitivity, Values Formation and Team Building at Princess del Leonor Hotel Resort and Convention Center at Brgy. Kayupo, Kiamba, Sarangani.

Regional Director Constancio A. Paye told in his message to the forty-seven (47) participants that the training is an opportunity of getting to know each other a little better. Our organizational matters could be resolved if we would learn to appreciate and understand the styles, needs and interests of our colleagues, he said.  Read More

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Offices (ROs) nationwide, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, conducted simultaneous Regional Small-scale Mining Summits on the proposed amendments to the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. (RA) 7076, or the “Peoples Small-scale Mining Act of 1991”.  Said Summits were attended by representatives from the Provincial and City Mining Regulatory Boards (P/CMRBs) of the respective regions.  Said IRR is embodied under Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order (DAO) No. 34, Series of 1992.
