Thirteen (13) personnel of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region XII underwent training on the use of self-rescuer conducted by Mr. Ryan Adao of ULTRA-SEER Inc. at the Conference Room of MGB XII Building at Prime Regional Center, Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City on January 31, 2017. This is part of the rescue and protection program of the region especially to employees who will undertake monitoring on safety and health activities of the underground mine.

Mr. Adao taught on the usage of the equipment during emergencies such as fire, explosion or gas inundations in which the ambient atmosphere becomes toxic. The training also consisted of a short demonstration on the instruction, care and maintenance of the self-rescuer.

The region has been regularly conducting monitoring on the safety standards in a mining area to ensure provision of a safe working environment for all that are involved and ensure that the mines comply with the acceptable safety work practices.
